This project is a unique experiment in bringing
artists and their works to the public. It offers an insiders view of the
processes and skills, dedication and imagination that are brought to
bear in the creation of art at this level of expertise. It continues the
cutting edge programming that has made the TAM a leading destination
site for art and that the influential art magazine, LTD, awarded
TAM with the placement of 6th place for the Best Museum Shows of 2014,
beating out competition from exhibitions at LACMA, MOCA and the Hammer
amongst others, as well as reviews in The Los Angeles Times and other
publications.
Artist Dickson Schneider and his Free Art Cart
will be distributing his art works directly to the public for free
throughout this project's run.
During the month the artists will be available
during open hours, Tues-Sat, 11am-5pm, to discuss their ideas, methods,
materials and their thoughts with the public. The Museum is free to
everyone and is located at 3320 Civic Center, Torrance, CA 90503.
TAM
will also be presenting new large-scale sculptural works by Los Angeles
based artist Kathleen Whitney in Gallery Two, as well as a selection of
International video artist works in the Dark Room projection space.
