THURSDAY TUNES AT TAM

You are invited to attend Thursday Tunes at TAM, September 15 . Artist
and producer Georgette Gantner teams up with the Torrance Art Museum to
present Thursday Tunes at TAM, a monthly series of live music events
hosted by the museum. Thursday Tunes at TAM seeks to build the public's
engagement with the musical arts by highlighting different musical
genres. The monthly performances are offered free of charge and provide a
unique musical and artistic experience, a live concert set against the
museum’s current running exhibitions.

'This month's live performers are the group Grant Hungerford & Friends, featuring Grant Hungerford on trumpet, September 15th from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Torrance Art Museum. The museum's current exhibition is "The Gildless Age," guest curated by Denise Johnson.

Grant Hungerford (Trumpet)
received merit scholarships to attend USC, B.M. and the Manhattan
School of Music, M.M. where he studied under principal trumpet players
with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic and the
Metropolitan Opera among others. In New York, Hungerford performed with
many different groups playing both classical and pop music, including
playing on the Double Fantasy album with John Lennon and Yoko Ono. After
Lennon’s death and the plans for world tour were canceled, he returned
to classical music. Hungerford has since performed with virtually every
orchestra in the Los Angeles area, and is currently Principal Trumpet
with the Burbank Philharmonic, the Downey Symphony, The Peninsula
Symphony, Trumpet professor at UC Santa Barbara, and Music Director of
St. John Fisher Church in Rancho Palos Verdes. He has been recorded on
soundtracks for movies and commercials as well as many CD projects.
Accompanying Grant will be Brian Chapman on bass. Joe DiResta on guitar and John Rusnak on piano.

About the Series’ Founder
Georgette Gantner
is an artist whose goal is to support the arts. She has produced a
number of exhibits through the Redondo Beach Art Group. In her great
appreciation of music, her intention is to promote and present the
talents of upcoming musicians and composers in a local setting.
